# ThermoFluid Studio Privacy Policy

> **DRAFT — NOT LEGAL ADVICE.** A professional starting-point template for
> attorney review before public launch. See `legal/README.md`.

**Effective date:** July 18, 2026
**Provider:** Rowan Baptista, sole proprietor d/b/a "ThermoFluid Studio".
**Contact:** support@thermofluidstudio.com

ThermoFluid Studio is built to keep your work on your own computer. This policy
explains the limited data involved in selling and licensing the Software.

## 1. Your project data stays local

Your project files and all engineering calculations are stored and run on
your own computer. **We do not upload, collect, store, or process your
models, project files, or results.** There is no cloud project storage and
no server-side solving.

## 2. What we (and our providers) do collect

- **Purchase and billing information.** When you subscribe, our merchant of
record, Lemon Squeezy (e.g. Lemon Squeezy), collects and processes your
payment details, billing contact, and applicable tax information under
its own privacy policy. We receive order and subscription status, your
purchaser email, and license information — not your full card number.
- **License activation information.** To validate your subscription, the
Software sends to our license service: your purchaser email, license key,
a randomly generated installation identifier (not a hardware serial), the
application version, and the platform (e.g. "Windows"). We use this only
to confirm entitlement, enforce one active installation, and prevent
abuse. We do not use hardware fingerprints as the primary identifier.
- **Optional crash reports.** If (and only if) you opt in, the Software may
send anonymous diagnostic information about a crash — such as the version,
an error fingerprint, and a stack trace. Crash reports are designed to
**exclude your project content**. This is off unless you enable it.

## 3. What we do not do

- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not show advertising in the Software.
- We do not track your activity inside the Software beyond what license
validation and (opt-in) crash reporting require.
- We do not collect your project files or engineering data.

## 4. Retention and your rights

We retain license and order records as needed to operate the subscription,
meet legal and tax obligations, and support you. You may request access to,
correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and
you may cancel at any time through the customer portal. Some records must be
retained where law requires (for example, tax records held by the merchant
of record).

## 5. Third parties

The main third parties involved are the merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy) for
checkout and billing, and our hosting/licensing infrastructure provider
(Cloudflare, e.g. Cloudflare) for the download and license-validation
service. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.

## 6. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted with a new
effective date.

Questions: support@thermofluidstudio.com.

*Before publishing:* the effective date is the drafting date (July 18,
2026); update it to your launch date if later. Confirm the third-party
processors (Lemon Squeezy, Cloudflare) with an attorney.
